Feast of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women and Radonitsa
Congratulations to all our ladies on this true Women's Day! Next Sunday is the feast of the Holy Myrrh-Bearing Women—those women who did not abandon our Lord Jesus Christ during the most difficult hours of His passions on the cross. The Holy Fathers believe that this is why the Risen Christ appeared first not to the apostles, but to these faithful women. The Church dedicates the second Sunday after Easter to the Myrrh-Bearing Women. This is the feast day of our Sisterhood. On this day, men will prepare lunch for our sisters and treat them. Moreover, the Vocal Ensemble of Russian Orthodox Australia (VERA) will perform a short concert dedicated to our workers. This will be the Vera’s premiere! Come support our sisters, who labour so hard for the glory of God and to support our parish. On Tuesday, 21April, the day of Radonitsa, Father Yaroslav will serve panihidas with the Easter rite at the cemetery starting at 10:00 a.m. On Saturday 25 April the vigil will be at 6 p.m., and on Sunday the 26th, the liturgy will begin at 8:30 a.m.
The warden, the responsible person for the economy of the entire parish is James Tobolov. He is directly assisted by members of the parish council, as well as many parishioners.
