  • Vasily Kozulin
    Protodeacon
Basil Kozulin was born on March 17, 1952 in Trekhrechye, China. In December 1962, the Kozulin family arrived in Geelong. Having successfully completed high school, Basil entered the Golden East Institute of Technology, from which he graduated in 1973 with a diploma in engineering. In 1974, he was elected to the parish council of the parish "Joy of All Who Sorrow", and since then he has worked there continuously in various positions. In 1977, he married Tatiana Kichakova, an active worker of the parish. During a pilgrimage in 1989, Archbishop Pavel tonsured him a reader in Jerusalem, and soon thereafter elevated him to subdeacon. At the patronal feast in Geelong, on 6 November 1990, Bishop Pavel ordained Father Basil as a deacon, and at the fiftieth anniversary of the parish, on 6 November 2002, Metropolitan Laurus elevated him to the rank of protodeacon. Thanks to his higher technical education, Father Basil helped a lot with advice and in supervising the numerous construction projects that were carried out in the parish. But, most importantly, Father Basil has been decorating the parish services for over three decades now, increasing the prayerful mood of parishioners and pilgrims.
